No Kill Contra Costa County is an advocacy group made up of Contra Costa County community members who want life-saving to be a primary role of Contra Costa Animal Services. We advocate for a commitment to the No Kill philosophy, the comprehensive implementation of the No Kill Equation, and an end to the needless killing of healthy and treatable companion animals at Contra Costa Animal Services.

Contra Costa County citizens are loud and clear – we want our tax dollars to be redirected toward life-saving efforts, rather than the killing and disposal of our community’s companion animals. Those communities that reject kill-oriented practices see an increase in adoptions, donations, volunteer power and morale, and support from the community.

The No Kill Movement is growing rapidly across the nation, and with several San Francisco Bay Area communities that have already achieved No Kill success, it is not a matter of if, but rather when, city leaders and shelter management will embrace the No Kill movement and fully support Contra Costa County’s No Kill success.

Seven out of 10 Americans believe that it should be illegal to kill animals in shelters unless those animals are suffering or are dangerous. As such, No Kill is a bipartisan issue with broad public support.

We want a No Kill Contra Costa County, now!
